Ivan: Eat friends?
Me: No, meet friends.
Ivan: EAT FRIENDS! EAT FRIENDS! EAT FRIENDS! Hahahaha!
His sister put on her shoes to walk him out, but she didn’t bother with daytime clothes. Oh, to live the relaxed life of the afternoon kindergarten girl.
These were his three birthday wishes.
1) The wish to go to Dunkin Donuts. We took Dragon and Saki (the sock monkey). We danced to the music they play.
2) The wish to go to the Library. We read 6 stories, fed Dragon pretend food, and Miss Tracy gave him a birthday stamp of a green cake with 3 candles.
3) The wish for green cake with green frosting that is all green. (He did not notice the lack of green candles. I distracted him, by adding Scooby Doo and a ninja turtle).
Nothing left but crumbs.
Birthday wishes do come true!
Grandma Liz made this cake for Ivan and his grandfather who are both celebrating birthdays this week.

“Kool-aid is good, but water is gooder.” Ivan now likes lemonade, but has always turned down most beverages that are not H2O.
Ivan does not like bright sunshine. He often says, “It’s too sunny” and then does not want to exit the car or the building into the sunshine. That’s the context for this quote, “I like trees. Sun makes sunshine. Tree makes shade.”

First Ivan wanted green cake for his birthday, now it’s “Green cake with green frosting with green candle. And lemonade.” His sister asked if the lemonade should be green. Ivan said simply, “Lemonade is yellow.” He also wants to go somewhere special for his birthday like “the library and Dunkin Donuts.”
Yesterday, Ivan asked me for a hug 18 times and slept a lot.
He vomited during the day, but slept during the night which was a big win over the previous night when he was up with stomach problems at intervals throughout the night. Eric spent that night in his room by his side.
Ivan would start moaning a soft, “Hey. . .hey. . .hey. . .” and then the vomiting.
Here he is passed out with Ellie on the futon yesterday afternoon.
Today, he has asked for 3 hugs and vomited once. I think we’re on the mend, but not there yet.
Ivan did not want to wear clothes today. I even offered long sleeves and long pants which he always wants even in August heat. Nope. I decided since we didn’t need to leave home, I’d let it be.
He enjoyed drilling pegs into this board.
He then loosened them with the drill and removed them with the dino-grabber.
When he learned there would be no lunch until he got dressed, he finally put on his pants.
“I want to paint ninja turtles.” We ran out of the green paint. He spent a long time carefully painting turtles.
Here we were wondering who was taller Ivan or the sunflower. Sunflower is taller now.
Both kids delight in giving high fives and do the “Up High! Down low! TOO SLOW!” routine.

It started with the superheroes. Ivan declared Green Lantern and Hulk to be the Green Team. Then they let Joker join. Soon he had green dinosaurs, plastic food, trolls, stuffed animals, vehicles and his water bottle. He put on his hat with green on it so he could join Green Team.
