Ivan makes his wishes known

I let Ezri use Ivan’s baby bath tub to pretend to give baths to her dolls. Every time I went near it holding Ivan he made a loud, “Uhn! UHNAH!” noise.

I ran him a bath and once in it he was the happiest baby I’ve seen.
He communicated what he wanted and I got what he wanted.
This was so exciting to him. This time what he wanted was more complicated than just to be in my arms or to nurse.

His favorite bath game is kicking his legs to make bubbles in the water and then popping them with his hands.

Sitting

Ivan is a good sitter now.

Until recent weeks you could put him on his bottom, but after a short while he’d start to list and eventually topple onto his side.

Now, you can plunk him down and he’ll just reach around to put whatever is in grasping range in his mouth.

In this case, that is grass.

Ivan’s favorite teething spoon

Ivan likes to have a goal item on the table these days to grab and bang.

He particularly likes this wooden spoon. It is good for gnawing and banging – two of Ivan’s prime objectives.  His bottom two front teeth are fully present.  The top two front teeth have emerged from the gum line and are on their way.

I am surprised the spoon is not in his mouth in either of these photos.

Pop beads and the binky

Ivan was interested in playing but not without his pacifier (aka binky).

He thought the pop beads were awesome until disaster struck. . .

He dropped the binky. Immediately he sought it with his mouth, but only found pop beads.

Still more pop beads and no binky. Ivan was persistent. He did not panic.

He found the binky! He popped it into his own mouth.

He looked quite pleased with himself.
