Getting Dressed

It would be much easier to put Ivan in his clothing if he weren’t so obsessed with putting his clothing in his mouth. He has gained skill in moving things to his mouth and discovered his thumb recently. As soon as any clothing is over his hands he will move it into his mouth.

Here he is relaxing on Ezri’s stuffed animal bag. It’s a beanbag, but filled with stuffed animal friends instead of beans.

Tummy Time – Let’s learn to flip from front to back, please!

This week I am working with Ivan to see if I can get him rolling from his tummy onto his back.
He can do the roll from his back to his tummy 100% of the time now.
He’s a pro.

Sadly, this means he rolls over at night and then doesn’t want to sleep on his tummy. So, he fusses until a parent wakes up and flips him over onto his back.

The first few nights were funny, but now we are flipping tired of waking up to flip the little guy,

It’s a good thing he’s so cute.  But on the 3rd wake up of the night I can’t help but think, “Go flip yourself, Ivan.”

Eyes for Ezri

Ivan loves watching Ezri do things. Ezri dancing makes Ivan smile. He watches people generally, but is especially keen on watching his sister. Eric assumes he is thinking that she’s not that much bigger surely he can do some of the awesome stuff she can do if he sets himself to it.

In other news, Ivan is now consistently able to roll from his back onto his tummy, but not the other way over. This has meant a couple of wake-ups in the middle of the night with Ivan crying to be flipped back over onto his back after he’s rolled onto his tummy. Time to flip the baby! He has moved from the small travel crib in our room to his own crib which mostly is going swimmingly well. But it does give him more room to roll.

Toys!

Ivan has discovered the world of TOYS!

He loves grabbing them and exploring them with his mouth.
This firefly toy named Freddy is a favorite.
Thanks, Mrs. Goldenstein, for Freddy.

Also, the doctor’s 4 month well check tells us Ivan is  15 lbs 1 oz.

He is 25 1/2 inches tall or long.

His head is 42 cm in circumference.
