Adventure

Today Ivan rolled from his back onto his tummy unassisted.

He played with his reflection in the mirror. Okay, I held him up to the mirror and he got excited. He smiled and drooled. It counts as playing.

He continued the blowing of spit bubbles trick he started yesterday too.

Here is Ivan in his carrier in the “adventure position.” We went out on a walk where the fall leaves with sunlight streaming through them were his mobile. He was impressed. His eyes were wide open the whole walk and his legs kicked excitedly when the wind blew through the trees.
Such a kid!

Smile!

If I say his name in a high-pitched voice and get right up in his face, he will give me a smile. Not sure why that’s what he likes, but he does.

Ivan is quickly outgrowing his newborn clothes. He is growing so much! It is great to see him turn baby from newborn. I feel bittersweet in a way I didn’t with my first baby. Because I wanted two kids and now have them both, as Ivan outgrows things I know I will not have a child this small ever again. I am enjoying his smallness while it is here.

Pink Bracelet

Ezri likes to gift Ivan with things.
This means I turn around and when I look back there’s a stuffed dinosaur in his crib or a small pumpkin sitting next to him.

In this play session, I missed when Ezri put her pink bracelet on Ivan. At some point, I looked down and there it was.

We are talking about not giving Ivan choking hazards, though I do look forward to Ezri dressing him up with her dress-up box. Someday he too can be a firefighter wearing a tutu which is one of Ezri’s favorite outfits.
