Amanda came across the prints of Ivan’s baseball photos while doing some organizing, and we realized we had never posted the digital pic to his blog.

He had a great time in baseball this year.

Ivan and I went to meet Troy Cummings, author of the “Notebooks of Doom” series, at the library. The line was very long, but we made it to the front eventually.

Ivan attended his very first Tang Soo Do tournament yesterday. He did a good job standing in front of five judges, introducing himself, and showing off some moves. He pointed out, proudly, to Amanda afterwards that he was the only “little dragon” who showed of a back kick.

He also got to”belt spar”, which involves pulling flags made from parts of karate belts out of your opponents belt. Ivan struck first, but his opponent manged two points, for the win when time expired. (They both got identical trophies).

While Ezri and Amanda were camping, Ivan and i, amongst other things, went to the library.  While we were there, he asked me to teach him how to play chess.  So I did.  We played for about an hour and a half–he was doing quite well.

Ivan enjoyed making his own wand and visiting platform 9 3/4 at the Naperville Harry Potter fest.

Ivan loved making this box trap to catch Pokemon in our back yard. It was baited with berries, but also had a way to manually spring the trap, should you notice a Pokemon under the box.

Ivan got an unexpected package in the mail today.
The return address was from the Booremba family.

Despite the intent and/or confused looks in the pictures above, Ivan enjoyed his first professional sporting experience. When asked, he said that what he enjoyed most was the fireworks when the Fire scored.

We capped off a busy weekend with a trip to our local park.
