Hanukkah Party in DeKalb

Ivan was mixed on how social he wanted to be at the Hanukkah party.

He enjoyed eating latkes and homemade donuts and lighting the menorah.

He sang along to the songs in English and even joined in on the chorus of some of those in Hebrew.

The rabbi brought the materials to craft dreidels out of LEGO. They really spun!

A great first night of Hanukkah!

Snowy Saturday

At the park standing on the “snow boulder” that a friend’s dad crafted.

Ivan with his signature “slushy special” snowball made of melty slush for better splat.

From the backyard to the driveway, the snowball fight was fierce.

Ivan really wanted to be able to use the sled to catapult this giant snowball. Fortunately, the kids didn’t get the mechanics to work for that.

Kids had a blast playing in the snow. Since we acquired snowpants and boots on Friday, we are in just under the wire for outfitting them appropriately.

Ivan’s Halloween

School Halloween Parade

Ivan with his superhero bodyguards. He opted not to change into his Halloween costume but still enjoyed parading.

We used our free cheese curds coupon from Culver’s to power up for Trick-or-Treating. Ivan did not want the free curd coupon to expire unused and it was 10/31 expiration date.

Kids at the house about to set out on Trick-or-Treating.

Trick or treating in Westmont with friends.

Every year the kids love this house with the PVC pipe candy slide from the window. Saves the kids trooping up the steep stairs and they love pushing the button that requests a treat down the shoot.

Up the stairs again!

The trick-or-treat posse.

Amanda and the kids at Meghan’s house.

PTA pumpkin carving event. Ivan is making Minecraft themed pumpkins with creeper and diamond sword carving.

And a final Wookiee!

After school on a nice fall day

Toasted pumpkin seed after school snack

Ivan and Jackson were two of the bigger kids on the playground after school and they convinced younger kids that to get to jump in the leaf pile they needed to help gather the leaf pile. Teamwork ensued.

Ivan asking if it is ready to be jumped in.

It is!!!
