Ivan ate his first mush yesterday! He’s been offered food previously and given me a look and then pushed it back out of his mouth with his tongue. Yesterday, he was interested and making noises for more mush and then swallowing the mush. Mush is rice cereal mixed with breast milk. Ezri seems to have adjusted, after an initial meltdown, to the idea she will need to share her bowls.

He’s discovering toys. Ezri and Eric cleaned off the exersaucer and assembled it on Sunday. As soon as Ivan saw it, he started kicking and making “eh-eh” noises. He knew what it was because there is one at the sitter’s house and he wanted it BIG TIME. This is the first time he’s really made his wishes for something besides milk or comfort so clearly known.

As he heads towards his half-birthday, Ivan is definitely gaining mad skills.
